Basic Computer Training
TADWA is now able to offer FREE Basic Computer Training for customers who have a current Computer Service contract or anyone who falls in our target groups (people with disabilities, the frail aged, carers).
YOU DO NOT HAVE TO GET A COMPUTER FROM TADWA. IT IS COMPLETELY FREE!
This is a great opportunity for customers to learn to master the skills necessary to use the computer and the internet.
Customers are eligible to receive up to a maximum of 20 hours free training. If you require additional training after this period every effort will be made to accommodate your request. Please however be mindful that there could well be other customers waiting for training and suitable resources may not be available immediately.
For your convenience there are three ways to receive training from TADWA:
- At our Bassendean Office (or other regoinal centres) in a small classroom environment - TADWA has its own training facility at Bassendean and partners with many other regoinal (country) service providers to operate small calssroom training that is flexible enough to meet your needs. If you have transport difficulties do not assume this will rule you out.
- In your own home where a trainer comes to you – We have a number of volunteers who provide basic computer training in the home. Customers who have problems with mobility are able to request in-home training. In some areas staff and volunteers are not readily available and there could be a need to resort to some other form of training. We are very happy to discuss options with you.
- Learn online or at your own computer via Microsoft Digital Literacy Curriculum. Every system supplied by TADWA has some e-learning material provided that covers areas like: Computer Basics; Internet and Email; etc.
You will not be learning on your own, you can access our Helpdesk Support whilst doing training. Every person who participates in our training can use our help desk to solve problems between training sessions and even for a short duration after training (and it is FREE.)
Typically the training is broken down into two streams:
