This is a higher level basic training in computers for people who want to know about Internet security, shopping / banking online, scanning pictures and digital photography.

  • Favourites and History, cleaning up temporary files & cookies.
  • Understand how to choose an Internet Service Provider.
  • Know the difference between Broadband and dial up.
  • The World of Google (search, maps, applications).
  • What are Social Networks (ie Facebook) and how to join them.

Shopping Online

  • Examples of online shopping experiences (ie ebay, dicksmith, paypal).
  • Safety considerations.
  • Using credit card details safely.
  • Banking online.
  • Doing surveys online (ie emailcash etc).

Online Learning

  • Where to find ELearning information (ie Microsoft ELearning).
  • What are EBooks and how to find them.

Scanning Information

  • What is a scanner and how to use it.
  • Types of scanning software (ie, image and OCR).
  • Scanning a document and a picture.
  • Saving a scan.

Digital Photography

  • What is a digital photograph and how is it stored.
  • Download, save and edit digital photos (suggest participants use own camera).
  •  Printing and Emailing photos.
  •  Loading photos onto the web.
